ADD may be a form of early -stage 1 - diabeties - Alzheimer's is a form of 'Stage III Disabetes'. The word - ambidextrous and laterality - refers to children and adultswho do not know left from right and who alternate between left hand and right hand preference. They do not develop neurological laterality necessary for reading and other tasks. In the case of developmental anomalities, parents and teachers should make careful observations of the children in the classroom. Potential visual dysfunctions may first appear as unexpected developmental patterns. The current educational system does not address these issues- and usually gives a make-believe 'child evaluation process' - called 'drugging the child with medications'- rather than finding the 'underline cause of the problem'- Our education system calls this: the 'child study team' It should be called the
'child drugging team'
The first thing to do is to get the child an eye exam - by a behavior optomitrist - these children - as well as adults- have trouble concentrating, get distracted easily, they have problems following directions, troube reading, difficulty reading out load in the class, difficulty following classroom tasks, organizing thoughts & assigments, they preform poorly in tests and jobs, usually late for class, have difficulty controlling anger and have relationship problems with friends, family members and classmates. They can have 20/20 eyesight reading an eye chart- but have trouble focusing in class and cannot comprhend what they read- So- this is why we suggest an - eye exam - is most important- If an medication is prescribed to treat ADD/ADHD- methylphenidate (Ritalin), atomoxetine (Strattera) or dextroamphetamine (Adderall) does not improve the condition - most 'drug doctors) will prescibe a higher dosage- rather than understand- that the probem may be a - visual - problem- the child cannot focus - this problem will indicate an undiagnosed vision problem....
It is also important to understand a malnourished brain/body- can begin at the moment of conception- The mother may be malnourished, poor nutirtion, lack a proper diet, drinking diet soda - Aspartame- Nutra-sweat, 'sweet & low', sugar, coffee, MSG, can also cause ADD symptoms in the child. Many baby foods are loaded with toxic chemicals like MSG & Aspartame- it is best to breast feed the child - avoid toxic 'vacccines'-
Remember- medications will only reduce the symptoms- not eliminate the cause.
If the child is on medications, and you wish to discontinue being on medications- you must seek te help of a professional certified person to help you at this stage-
It is also important to understand- if the child who is classified as ADD/ADHD, Learning Disablity, Hyperactivity, Dyslexia- does not get the proper treatment to address these issues- statistic show - there is a good chance that the child could become a future victim of drug abuse, alcoholism, criminal behavior, and may fail to achieve a good education. Remember- the world of the alcoholic, drug addict, will become more and more distorted, disoriented, and disturbed- as Dr Hodes stated---'misperceptions and dysperceptions occur within the addict, alcoholic, altering the ability to make rational, appropriate behaviors in that perceptible space and time world...' A malnourished brain and body become very susceptible to drug taking- legal & illigal, narcotic use, smoking cirgarettes, crack, alcoholism- after a period of time becomes totally physiologically, biochemically and psychologically dependent upon the intakes of these drugs - subsequently - as Dr Hodes pointed out in his lectures and papers- 'further malnutrition ensues, thus making the addit sicker and sicker-" At that point in order to recover- the addict will now face two problems to overcome- still has the overcome the ADD/LD problem and must be totally detoxed and given the proper nutrition in order to assume a responsibe position in society- Remember - as John Wayne once said- 'Life is hard- it's a lot harder if you are - stupid"
Dr Hodes believed in a holistic approach to drug dependnecy- This information is also noted in Gary Null's book -"Nutrition and the Mind" - & "Food, Mood, & Mind Connecton" - This consists of the following "(1) developmental optometry (2) orthomolucular nutritional psychiatry (3) clinical ecology and (4) chiropractic care, in addition to others-" Reference -"Kicking the Drug Habit: An Holistic Intervention Approach to eliminate (drug) -narcotic dependency and create optimally healthy tissue in the brain, body and blood stream"- 1992 unpublished research papers of Dr. Hodes
In conclusion, ADD & ADHD- are terms which describe the inability to pay attention or concentate; impulsiness (acting without thinking) restlssness; sudden explosive behavior (rage) and irritability (being ill- tempered).
SIMPLE TEST- try an elimination diet- Eliminate all dairy- cow's milk, cheese, yogult, ice cream for one week to 10 days- if there is a positive difference - than you will see that it is DAIRY PRODUCTS - which is causing the problem- artificial hormones in the milk & dairy-
is a term referring to a general or specific difficlty with a motor or academic task - visual, reading, audio (hearing) math, spelling. It can refer to a disorder in one or more basic psychological processes involved in using language, spoken or written. This may manifest itself in an imperfect ability to listen, talk, think, speak, write, spell, organize thought patterns, and various simple organizational skills, The child or adult may be unable to organize thought patterns, sentense structure, and ideas. He or she may have an average, below average or in many cases an undiagnosed very high IQ. If the child does not get the proper treatment, the child may become a prisoner for life.
IN LATIN - THE WORD - 'DOCTOR MEANS TEACHER'
IN ENGLISH - THE WORD -' DOCTOR' refers to one who prescribes drugs and gives out 'Big Pharma' - prescriptions-...
Medications will not solve the problem nor change the cause of the problem-
Medications will not change the UNDERLINE CONDITIONS-
Medications will only reduce the SYMPTOMS -
Medications have no side effects ONLY EFFECTS-
Most effects - in the long run - ARE NEGITIVE-
Every person has a different tolerance-
Drugs only surpress the SYMPTOMS -
However, there are cases when a child or adult needs to be medicated-
but this should only be prescibed by a board certified MD - not by a
para-teacher with a high school education-
RITALIN - PROSAC - & OTHER PSYCHOTIC MEDICATIONS
'Nothing boils my blood more than the conspiracy perpertrated on the American Public since 1954 by the makers of Ritalin with the full knowledge and concent of the American Government. It has transcented by 9 US Presidents of both political parties so there are no innocents here. We are drugging our children with a highly addictive Class II controlled substance as evidenced by reports from our own DEA and the WHO (World Health Organization) of the UN'
'Ritalin is "speed", like cocaine, and heroin. Would any sensible reposible parent give their 6 year old child heroin? Yet because of massive advertising blitz by a bottom line manufacturer. we freely drug our children. This ongoing conspiraacy has advanced to the point where certian State Education Boards mandate that children diagnosed with ADHD MUST be on a prescription drug like Ritalin in order to be admitted.'
'Think about this fact - and check it out - The US Armed Forces will NOT accept any applicant who has used RITALIN.' The Bush, Clinton and Obama Administrations are Ally of the drug cartel. "If the State tells a Lie often enough, loud enough and long enough, the populace will believe it to be true!" This reminds me of the Nazi Goebbels (Minister of Propaganda in Nazi Germany) advising his followers.'
'We know that at least 10 million American parents willingly put their children on a addictive chemical - synthetic drug.
'Where will the madness end?' *
(This quote was from an e-mail from my late friend- Brother Tom OBrien - Sept 1, 2004 We first met at the ADD Conference in White Plains, NY. in 1996. We became instant friends since we both had mutual friends from the Jim Henson Show Productions. Tom was a major Wall Street Executive and had taught Finance at NYU Graduate School when in the late 60's an early morning children's educational program called 'Sunshine Semister' was first originated by two elementary teachers from Philadelphia, Pa. It is better known today as "Sesame Street' and that show became the 'Jim Henson Show'- We were planning to organize a 'satire' of 'Big Pharma'.- but that idea -really did not fly'-
READING & MATH
The most important element in READING - is not seeing words & letters- But, reading thoughts & ideas- without eye strain and in a COMFORT ZONE-
The most important element in MATH - is inderstanding the sequence of NUMBERS - This means the INTERNAL UNDERSTANDING of LEFT & RIGHT- POSITIVE & NEGITIVE
These must be understood INTERNALLY -
This is called - NEUROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION-
This Field of Medical Expertise is called - BEHAVIOR OPTOMITRY
When you ( and/or your child) goes to a Behavior Optomitrist - they will give you an eye exam and special eye glasses may be prescibed. Depending on the results of the eye exam they may be prescribed special NEUROLOGICAL EYE & BODY MOVEMENT EXERCISES-
THE FIRST ITEM IS TO GET AN EYE EXAM. THIS HAS TO BE DONE BY A BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR OPTOMITRIST. JUST GETTING A STRONGER PAIR OF GLASSES WILL NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. A REGULAR OPTOMITRIST DOES NOT PRESCIBE NEUROLOGICAL EXERCISES. THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN SELLING A PAIR OF GLASSES AND MAKING A PROFIT. MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE COVERAGE; BUT, YOU WILL HAVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT-
ACCORDING TO THE LECTURES AND RESEARCH PAPERS OF DR. HODES: "Developmental / Behavioral Optometric Care is extremely beneficial to the child (or adult) with educational disabilities.Visual motor skills combined with motoric efficiency - form the underlying base and basis of perception and cognitive understanding of SYMBOLS AND SPACE. PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION-MAKING."
DO NOT RELY ON THE SO-CALLED MEDICAL EXPERTISE OF THE SCHOOL NURSE. MOST SCHOOL NURSES ARE PUPPETS OF BIG PHARMA- DUTY IS TO GIVE OUT MEDICATIONS. THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE CORRECT ASPECTS OF VISION AND NEUROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION - THE SCHOOL NURSE WILL CHECK A CHILD'S VISION WITH A POSTER WHICH IS PLACED- 10 FEET AWAY- WE READ AT ELBOW'S LENGTH - NOT 10 FEET AWAY.
Developmental disabilities, discrepancies and impairments are the result of genetic inheritance or heredity- the child does not develp properly in the womb (in other words, the child's brain and neurological system is not fully developed). Dr. Hodes pointed out, that other causes of LEARNING DISABILITES are congenital, showing up at birth while others appear perfectly normal at birth. Other causes of Learning Disabilities are acquired accidents, developmental delays, lack of neuro-physiological-motoric integration, cerebral allergies, mulnutrition, subliminated vetebrae, pyschosomatic defects and illness, and other causes, such as birth injuries, toxemia, heavy toxic metals as lead poisoning and Mercury (Hg) poisoning from silver amalgum filings.
HEARING - may be another issue!
If a child or adult has poor hearing it may present a problem. You may want to have the child's hearing checked out. Some Behavior Optomitrist may be able to check for hearing problems. There are some people who have issues 'of hearing and timing'. For some children, the brain takes a longer time to process the hearing. For example, a child may be answering the 'first' question when the teacher is asking question number two or question number three.
This subject deals with the enviromental issues. Allergies, mold, lighting, Mercury and other toxens in vaccines, chemicals in the food, flouride in the water, chemicals in the air, pesticids (children who live in well to do homes may have toxic chemicals in the lawn, or chemicals in the carpets).
What to look for-
If a child cannot track a ball with there eyes may be unable to follow words on a page. In some cases, a simple exercise as walking on a balance beam could esolve this issue.
Does the child catch a ball without using there body as a basket. This may be a sign of a learning disability or a sign of a visual disability.
Does the child have difficulty riding a bike?
Does the child walk erratically?
Appear awkward and uncoordinated?
Does the child walk using his left leg with left arm and the right leg with the movement in the right arm - the way a gorilla walks.-
Are the toes pointed our or pointed in?
Toes pointed 'out' - would illustrate a - 'divergence' of vision and thought patterns-
Toes pointed 'in' could be 'convergence' of vision thought patterns-
Does the child support themselves by leaning on a desk, table or wall.
Children who bunp into things may be unable to judge distances.
Many children /adults lack depth perception and lack a sense of self in space.
STNR - SYMMETRIC TONIC NECK REFLEX)
-This is an automaticmovement (reflex) that develops when a child is between four and eight months of age. When this reflex is not integrated (matured) through proper and suficient crawling, the immature reflex contributes to discomfort, poor coordination, poor attention, in tasks as writing.
-this is the motor skill that is the last to develop and uses the smaller muscles Fine Motor is the motor skill term used to describe writing, coloring, playing a musical instrument.
-this is a term to describe running, throwing a ball, shooting a basketball, kicking a soccer ball. running, walking, uses larger muscle groups- this is the first motor skill to develop.
-have nothing to do with intelligence. There are many famous people who have overcome learning disabilites, ADD, dyslexia. These people can be highly intelligent. The best way is to have the child /adult tested by a professional diagnosis of a behavior optomitrist. The problem is usually -visual; but understand, vision is an internal neurological system which is controlled by a number of 'overload' internal environmental stimulli.
NEGATIVE FACTURES INCLUDE-
-POOR DIET, SUGAR, WHITE FLOUR, DAIRY, COW'S MILK, ASPARTAME, MSG, FLUORIDE IN OUR WATER. These negative factors can reduce IQ. Floride can affect the IODINE formation in the Brain. A lack of protein which can reduce amino acid function. A lack of vitamins, minerals and enzymes can have a negitive effect on the neurotransmitters, These negitive fractures ill cause the child to be unable to concentrate on the task before them, disorientation of time and space. Many children with Learning disabilities will have to '-stop and think- which hand is right or left.....
FREQUENT MOOD SWINGS-
-These ADD/Learnining disability children / adults, have mood swings, lack of concentration, forgetfulness, reading problems, difficulty getting organized and solving problems, chronic procrastination, a sense of under achievement (not getting it together), impulsive speaking, needless worrying, starting new tasks without completion, depression, low tolerance for stress, and difficulty managing time.
PREPARE YOUR CHILD TO SUCCEED IN SCHOOL
PARENTS MUST TAKE AN ACTIVE PART IN HELPING THEIR CHILD TO PREPARE FOR SCHOOL ESPECIALLY IF THE CHILD HAS ADD, LEARNING DISABILITY, DYSLEXIC OR IS HYPERACTIVE.
TRY TO USE A -PLANT BASED DIET
START WITH A DIARY
Get a 'DIARY' - and use it every day and mark down what the child eats & drinks. This may resolve the problem. I can review it for you! Did the drink soda? Did they drink 'diet soda'? Mark down the weekly menu.
TIME - they spent watching TV, computer, video games. etc.?
Remember TV, Computers, Microwaves all emit radiation -
Get a anti-radiation protection device!
PARENTS - It is important that young children go to bed at the same time and at the same time every night. Some children play video games and watch TV until 12 o'clock or later. If the child does not get enough sleep they will NOT have the proper mental development needed for the learning process- to develop -
For children school class work- this takes a lot of time on paper and pencil tasks. Parent- set-up a little desk and let the child get used to sitting at a desk doing homework and reading.
READING - encourage your child to read- get an eye examination. Go over their HOMEWORK every night and be in contact with their teacher. Encouage your child to read to you. Leave your child those little yellow note stickers. Organize a TIME LOG and daily instructions. Encourage some type of hobby- collecting coins & stamps, rocks, ant farm, hamsters, tropical fish, turtle, a cat and perhaps a dog to take care of. Be careful what they are watching on the Internet / TV. Play games with them - 'Scrabble', 'Spill & Spell', Monopoly-
WATER - Make sure they drink 6-8 glasses of pure filtered water every day.
USE YOUR IMAGINATION to create a positive learning atmosphere.
THINK POSITIVE - BE CREATIVE -
KEEP THE CHILD IN A NURTURING, NON-THREATENING -POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT- GIVE THEM VARIOUS JOBS: putting away the groceries, Ask them what the package contains - 'spell the word' 'spell the word backwards, 'match the socks'!, 'write a grocery list', 'help with cooking, 'name color concepts',
NOTICE HOW THEY WRITE
Can you read their handwriting? Are there words 'missing'? Are there any letters or words missing? Are the letters slanted? Are letters and numbers written backwards? POOR HANDWRITING MAY INDICATE A POSSIBLE LEARNING DISABILITY OR DYSTEXIA. IN THE ELDERLY, POOR HANDWRITING AND LARGE LETTERS MAY INDICATE A POSSIBLE BEGINING SIGN OF ALZHEIMER'S OR PARKINSON'S.
If the child is doing addition, substraction, multiplcation, division, fractions, percentages, coins, etc., take notice if the numbers are - organized and in line. IF THE NUMBERS ARE NOT IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND ORGANIZED- THIS MAY BE A SIGN THAT THE CHILD OR ADULT MAY BE ;DYSLEXIC'.
EXERCISES TO TEACH MATH-
Learning and doing MATH is an INTERAL NEUROLOGICAL CONCEPT. The word 'MOVAGENTICS' is a word to describe various movement exercises. This would be difficult to example in a few paragraphs. It can be used to teach MATH by having the youngsters 'jump through the math questions' -Using concepts of 'left & right' -Right is Positive Left is negative. I would have to compose some type of video to explain this learning concept. The child stands on blocks or peices of paper, (1 -10) '0' and negitive (-1 -10) - 2 +2 -the child would stand on #2 block and take two jumps to the #4 block. To explain 3+3 , stand on the #3 blocks and jump three jumps to the #6 block- Substraction 3-6 would be to stand #6 block and jump three jumps to the LEFT to the #3 block. This will also explain the concept of '0' -ZERO - which many children do not comprehend. I taught Pre-K this concept and I had the younster doing algebra before starting kindergarden.
SIMPLE MATH PROBLEMS
Have the child or children measure their heights using a ruler and mark the numbers on a wall or chart. Introduce the youngsters to concepts of 'dozen & 'half dozen', cooking questions, percentages measuring of ingrediants and coooking times, compare prices at the supermarket, check the grocery bill...
LISTENING -PROBLEMS IN HEARING & TIMING
This is one important element which is usually overlooked. Hearing and listening is very important because some children have good hearing but cannot understand the concepts. When you give directions to an adult or elderly parent, - start with one step directions- and eventually make them two step or three step directions, For example: 'pick up the pencil' -then say ' and put it on the desk'. In teaching a young child to dress and too dress themselves up to three or four things to do too get dressed. You can also do this with a Parkinson's or Alzheimer's patient.
Teach the child to remember their 'telephone number' - They could always lose the 'cell phone'. Ask the child or anelderly parent 'and ask if they can remember it backwards Have them- 'REPEAT THE NUMBER FORWARD AND BACKWARDS' - This is a good way to teach youngsters and others - to remember spelling words:
CATEGORIES OF DISABILITIES
CHILDREN AND ADULTS WHO HAVE ADD, ADHD, LEARNING DISABILITIES, HYPERACTIVITY, DYSLEXIA AND AUTISM MAY IN MANY CASES NOTBE CLASSIFIED IN THE CATEGORIES LISTED BELOW:
Speech and Language impared
Blind or partially -sighted
BOYS - are movement, motion & auditory
GIRLS - visual skills & fine motor skills
PARENTS & TEACHERS - plan activities around their gender, age interest
