NEUROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION

NEUROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION IS THE KEY TO

OVERCOMING ADD, ADHD, LEARNING DISABILITIES-

LEARNING DISABILITIES - is a term referring to a general

or specific difficulty with a motor or academic task -

visual, reading, audio, math and spelling. It can refer to a disorder in one or more basic psychological processes

involved in using language, spoken or written.

This may manifest itself in an imperfect ability to listen,

talk, think, speak, write, spell, and various general organizational skills. The child may be unable to

organize thought patterns, sentence structure, and ideas.

He or she may have an average, below average or even

a very high I.Q. If the child does not get the proper

treatment, the child will become a prisoner

for life-----

IF A CHILD DOES NOT GET THE PROPER

NEUROLOGICAL ORGANIZATIONAL TRAINING

they will become a prisoner for life...

In Latin - the word - 'DOCTOR MEANS TEACHER

In English - the word - 'DOCTOR means one who

prescribes drugs and gives out  prescriptions -

MEDICATIONS WILL NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM NOR

CHANGE THE CAUSE OF THE UNDERLINE CONDITIONS

MEDICATIONS WILL ONLY REDUCE THE SYMPTOMS

NON-INVASIVE NEUROLOGICAL METHODS CAN IMPROVE

THE CONDITIONS WITHOUT USING

THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT IN READING IS NOT

SEEING WORDS & LETTERS - BUT---

READING THOUGHTS & IDEAS-

WITH OUT EYE STRAIN AND IN A 'COMFORT ZONE'.

THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT IN UNDERSTANDING

MATH IS UNDERSTAND THE SEQUENCE OF NUMBERS -

THE INTERNAL UNDERSTANDING OF LEFT & RIGHT

AND THE CONCEPTS OF -'POSITIVE & NEGITIVE' -

THESE  BE UNDERSTOOD - Internally

HOW DO WE SEE? WE SEE VIA LIGHTS RAYS WHICH

ENTER THRU THE EYE AND INTO THE BRAIN.

how DO WE HEAR?    WE HEAR VIA SOUND WAVES.

AT THE MOMENT OF CONCEPTION, THE CHILD BEGINS

TO DEVELOP THE INTERNAL NEUROLOGICAL

DEVELOPMENT NEEDED FOR LEARNING- IF THE CHILD

DOES NOT HAVE THE POSITIVE ENERGY FIELD NEED

FOR PROPER DEVELOPMENT-

AS A TEACHER, THERE ARE COME CASES MEDICATIONS HAVE TO BE USED. MEDICATION WILL CALM THE CHILD DOWN AND PREVENT THE CHILD FROM INJURING

HIMSELF OR HERSELF OR OTHERS

AND IT WILL BRING SOME DEGREE OF 'SANITY' TO

THE PARENTS, TEACHERS AND SCHOOL

ADMINISTRATORS.

According to the DSM-IV-TR -the official comic book of

the American Psychiatric Association "ADD/ADHD,

LEARNING DISABILITIES  maybe treated

with visual training and changes in Improving DIET & NUTRITION"

The American Psychiatric Association's

Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders -

does not have scientific evidence to prove

medication will improve the underline cause

          of the problem -

medication will only reduce the symptoms.

MEDICATIONS HAVE NO 'SIDE EFFECTS' ONLY EFFECTS- MOST EFFECTS -IN THE LONG RUN - ARE NEGATIVE...

EVERY PERSON HAS A DIFFERENT TOLERANCE

DRUGS ONLY SUPPRESS THE SYMPTOMS

PARENTS- YOU MUST ADDRESS

THE UNDERLINE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM...

ONE IN TEN CHILDREN IN AMERICA IS ON MEDICATIONS

10 MILLION CHILDREN IN AMERICA ARE ON DANGEROUS PSYCHOTIC MEDICATIONS-

THOSE WHO DO NOT CHANGE DO NOT KNOW THEIR CHAINS

FIRST THING TO DO IS TO CHECK THE CHILD'S VISION IMPROVING YOUR THE CHILD'S DIET CAN

REDUCE

ADD/ADHD,LEARNING DISABILITIES, HYPERACTIVITY

HEARING - may be another issue

IF a child has poor hearing it may present a problem. You may want to have

the child's hearing checked out. Some behavior optometrist's may be able to

check for hearing problems. There are some issues 'of hearing and timing'.

For some children, the brain takes longer time to process the hearing

A child may be answering the 'first' question when the teacher is asking

is asking question number two or question number three.

CLINICAL ECOLOGY - deals with the environmental issues. Allergies, mold, lighting.mercury (Hg) in vaccines, chemicals in the foods, fluoride in the water, mercury in dental work and root channels- which is right next to thebrain. Orthomolecular nutrition is a specialized way to develop neurological organization skills.

NEUROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION EXERCISES will help

children who have a learning disability. These special

exercises will ease efficiency in movement as the child

moves in 'space'. This will allow the person to conserve

energy and concentrate on the intellectual task at learning.

For some children, even the simple task of walking a

balance beam may address this problem.

The mastery of balance is essential to the efficiency of

learning. If a child cannot catch a ball without using their

body as a basket, maybe a sign of a learning disability

or it can be a sign of a visual disability.

If a child who cannot track a ball with their eyes may be

unable to follow words on a page.

Does the child have difficulty riding a bike?

Does the child walk erratically? Appear awkward and        uncoordinated?

Does the child/adult walk using his left leg with/ left arm and then right leg with movement in the right arm- the way gorilla walks-

Are the toes pointed in or pointed out?

Toes pointed in could be convergence of vision/ thought patterns?

Toes pointed out- would illustrate a divergence of vision & thought patterns.

Does the child support themselves by leaning on a desk,

table or wall?

Children who bump into things may be unable to judge distances.

Many children/adults lack depth perception and

lack a sense of self in space.

THESE MODALITIES SHOULD BE CHECKED BY   A  VISUAL EXAM...

STNR -(symmetric tonic neck reflex) - this is an automatic movement (reflex) that develops when a child is between

four and eight months of age. When this reflex is not

integrated (matured) through, proper, and

sufficient crawling, the immature reflex

contributes to discomfort, poor coordination,

poor attention, in tasks as writing

FINE Motor this is the motor skill the last to develop

and uses the smaller muscles. It is the term used to

describe writing, coloring, playing a musical instrument.

GROSS MOTOR - this is a term to describe running,

throwing a ball, shooting a basketball, playing soccer,

running, walking, uses larger muscles - this is the

first motor skill to develop.

LEARNING Disabilities have nothing to do with intelligence there are many famous people who have Learning Disabilities, ADD, Dyslexia who are highly intelligent. The best way to determine these moralities is a professional diagnosis by a behavior optometrist. The problem is usually visual - but the visual problem is in the internal neurological system - which

is controlled by a number of 'overload' of internal

environmental stimuli.

These negative fractures include poor diet, sugar, white flour, dairy, cow's milk, aspartame, MSG, Fluoride in the water

which can reduce IQ, a lack of protein which can reduce

amino acid function, lack of vitamins, minerals and enzymes which have a negative effect on the neurotransmitters.

These negative fractures will cause the child to be unable to concentrate on task before them, disorientation of time

& space. Stop to think - which hand is left or right.

These ADD/ADD,L/D children have frequent mood swings,

lack of concentration, forgetfulness, reading problems,

difficulty getting organized and solving problems, chronic procrastination, a sense of under achievement (not getting it together), impulsive speaking, needless worrying, starting

new tasks without completion, depression, low tolerance for stress, and difficulty managing time.

PREPARE YOUR CHILD TO SUCCEED IN SCHOOL-

Parents must take an active part in helping their child to overcome ADD,ADHD,  Hyperactivity,

Learning Disabilities, Dyslexia -

ONE THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN-  sons and daughters

who have a parent or father/mother in law who has

Alzheimer's or Parkinson's - you can follow the same

protocols and apply as needed---

For children one way to give structure is to arrange a

definite time and a quiet place to do homework...

CONSISTENCY is most important...

Get a DIARY and use it every day marking down the diet,

what they ate, did they drink diet soda?

TIME - they watched TV - Computer Video Games

Facebook Tweeter ?

Remember TV, Computers, Microwaves all emit radiation

It is important that young children go to bed at an early time

and at the same time every night. Some children watch TV

&play video games until 12 o'clock or 1 AM- if you allow

this the child will not have the proper mental development needed for the learning process- to develop-  So - an early bedtime every night and the same time every night-

For children school classroom work - spends a lot of

time on paper and pencil tasks Parents should get a

little desk and let the child get used to sitting at a

desk and reading

Let the child who may be -HYPERACTIVE- to crawl

on the floor - left arm and right leg right leg and

left arm in creeping & crawling motions -

The KEY to this exercise is to focus an object -

about 5-10 feet  as they are - creeping & crawling

older children, teenagers who are - hyperactive -

as well as Alzheimer's & Parkinson's patients-

this will help--- after- this exercise -

let them read a book, draw or read a story to them---

MATH MOST BE TAUGHT INTERNALLY -

FOR PARENTS-

READING- Encourage your child to read - get an eye

exam- Go over their HOMEWORK- this is most important -

Encourage your child to READ TO YOU. Leave your

child -notes- & messages - a time log - and daily instructions

for the day... Encourage some type of hobby- collecting

coins,  rocks, stamps, ant farm, what ever...Make a list

of TV shows and Internet programs- they can watch

and be careful of what they are watching - some

Internet programs are not good for grownups and adults.

Play games with the children- Scrabble, Spill &

Spell, Monopoly...keep in touch with their classroom

teacher via  e-mail....you may want to ask their

classroom teacher - if they think - the child may

have a - LEARNING DISABILITY ?

---get an eye exam by a -Behavior Optometrist ---

CLASSIFYING- If you have an ADD, L/D child or taking

care of a Alzheimer's / Parkinson's parent or in-law-

have them help around the the home and make

them feel important- Give them various jobs:

putting away groceries- ask them what

the package contains-spell the word- spell the

name on the package without looking - backwards- ,

match the socks, write a grocery list, help with cooking-

name color concepts, strips may not match with solids,

work on writing a -diary what foods they eat-? ...notice

how they write! A/D- & ADD folks will both write with

large & usually 'slanted' letters? Can you read the

handwriting? Are there words missing? Letters

and numbers written backwards? Poor handwriting

will indicate a possible learning disability or dyslexia...

In the elderly, poor handwriting may indicate a

possible beginning sign of possible Alzheimer's-

ARITHMETIC - Go over your child's homework. If the

child is doing subs traction, addition, multiplication,

division- notice if the numbers are - organized and

in line...(if the numbers are not straight- and organized

- this may be 'dyslexia'...thus be sure to get them a

visual exam. Ask your child- or perhaps elderly parent

or in-law- to help you with the cooking and baking.

Introduce to them concepts of  dozen and

half dozen, percentages, cooking times,

measuring of ingredients, record child's height

and weight. Have them count the silverware and

set the table, compare prices at the supermarket,

have child check the grocery bill. For checking

a possible problem with 'dyslexia' remember- to

notice how a child writes a math problem - are the

numbers in order? Can you under sand the

handwriting? Can you read the numbers?

Are the numbers clear, in line and organized?

MOTOR SKILLS-

BOYS- are movement, motion & auditory

GIRLS-  visual skills & fine motor skills

Plan activities around their gender, age, interest & abilities

Girls are better at fine motor skills- cooking, cleaning

dishes, young girls usually play - hula-hoops, painting,

skipping rope, hopscotch, dusting the room,

cleaning up, sweeping the floor, tying, answering

phone calls,cooking,  braiding plant hangers,

macrame', paperwork, sewing, cutting, pasting,

braiding their hair, playing with clay...while boys

would be more likely to be throwing clay, throwing

a paper airplane, girls would use a ruler to measure

things while boys would use a ruler- as a play sword.

Boys would do activities which involve movement-

throwing a football, kicking a soccer ball, hitting &

catching a baseball, playing basketball, -activities

of motion, movement and auditory activities -

as in football, basketball, soccer. Girls would be

more likely to stay in their seats and remain quiet

while boys would more likely be throwing papers

into a garbage can- called -'garbage can basketball'.

Usually as a teacher whenever I substituted a class-

"it was always the two or three girls who would sit in the

front of the class and do the assignment while the boys

would - 'zone out' to the back of the class. Thus- girls

would be more likely to be secretaries, office

workers, check-out retail jobs, teachers, nurses-

occupations which require - FINE MOTOR SKILLS-

Boys would be more inclined to become

policemen, fireman,plumbers, truck drivers, landscape

workers, GROSS MOTOR SKILLS - so plan the

active and inactive activities around their interests and

abilities.

AUDITORY SKILLS- Teach the child to remember

their 'telephone number'- and ask if they can say it

backwards- Dr Hodes taught me this trick- repeat the

telephone number -forward and backwards- A good way

to have the youngsters to remember spelling words:

FOR SPELLING 'spell' the word forwards & backwards

REPEAT THE WORD FORWARDS & BACKWARDS-

For example - say the word - 's-p-e-l-l-i-n-g'

   * now say the word backwards  'g-n-i-l-l-e-p-s'

Teach this to a ADD  child or an A/D patient- Works

great for ADD and people who are - 'dyslexic' now:

'spell the word backwards'-

Teach the child - A/D patient - to repeat the word

over & over-again- teach them to spell their home address,

read to the child and ask them questions- ask them to

tell you the events of the day, what did they do in school

today? 'What did they learn today? Who is their teacher?

Spell the name of the school? Who is the principal?

Recite nurse rhymes and jingles to the child, read to the

child, and keep a scrapbook---

VISION IS 90% OF CLASSROOM LEARNING!

VISION - THINK OF A COMPUTER HARDWARE SYSTEM-

BEFORE A CHILD REACHES THE AGE OF 6 YEARS- THEIR

'HARD- DRIVE' SYSTEM HAS BEEN PROGRAMED.

School textbooks are wrong- Vision is NOT like a camera

with an upside down picture shown on the back of the eye-

Vision entails the entire neurological system, the brain,

spinal system, nervous system, skeletal system, and

the muscles of the eye-

VISUAL SKILLS- We have a entire program of 'visual

skill exercises for children as well as for adults who

have Alzheimer's & Parkinson's----

There are 'fine' visual skills- playing card games,

puzzles, describe objects from memory, reading, music-

These are games for GROSS MOTOR SKILLS-

shooting basketballs, throwing a football, kicking a soccer

ball- FINE MOTOR SKILLS for young children are  drawing,

art work, coloring books, crayons, playing an instrument-

However- playing an instrument, doing art work, throwing

a ball - which are common PE program activities-

In conclusion, USE YOUR IMAGINATION to create a

positive learning atmosphere. Think positive. Be creative.

Keep the child in a nurturing, non-threatening,

positive environment.

As a teacher for over 20 years, one thing I noticed most -

either students were awake and learning or asleep

/ day dreaming - and not learning. Sometimes it's

best - let 'sleeping dogs lie'.

According to Feldenkrais, "Two states of existence

are commonly distinguished: waking and sleeping".

Some children in the classroom- go into their

'comfort zone'...behaving 'well' so they can get a passing

grade. Perhaps, as a 'substitute' teacher for many a

class , students would say- to fellow 'classmates'...

'be quite' or the principal would get us a stricter teacher.'-

for at least, it made the day---- go easier.  Every class

usually has a few students - who- do the assignments-

usually two or three girls - who sit in the front row- stay

quite and do the assignment. While many of the rest,

would stay towards the back of the room and 'zone out'.

So existence, there are two states: waking and

sleeping. According to Feldenkrais, there is a

'third state': awareness...this is the questionable state

when it comes to 'whether or not a child /adult has a

learning disability or dyslexia...a cranial distortion or whatever....

There are many exercises one can do to improve -

'vision' Thur movement. These exercises can improve

ones mental outlook as well as helping people

who have Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ADD, ADHD,

Learning Disabilities, Hyperactivity, dyslexia, heart disease

and many other modalities. But, - first one must have a

positive mental outlook and an 'awareness' of -self-

First read this passage from a book ti tiled 'Awareness of Movement by MosheFeldenkrais - "Everyman- has two worlds: a personal world of his own and the external world common to us all."

Feldenkrais goes on to write- "In my personal world,

the universe and all living things exist only as long as I live,

my world is born with me and dies and disappears

together with me. In the great world we all share I am

no more than a drop of  water in the sea or a grain of

sand in the desert. My life and death hardly affect the

great world at all."

However, most important- do not let a family member who

has any of these modalities feel that - 'they are not

needed'. Their lives are important - they are important

family members- this is most important -

the positive outlook!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wanted to say a few words about the New Jersey State

Law concerning the eleven categories of disabilities:

Auditory handicapped

Communication disordered

Perceptually impaired

Neurologically impaired

Emotionally disturbed

Speech and Language impaired

Learning disabled

Blind or partially - sighted

Mentally retarded (educable and trainable)

Chronically ill and those who do not fit into above

named categories-

According to Dr Hodes...."Developmental / Behavioral Optometric Care is extremely beneficial to the child with educational disabilities. Visual motor skills combined with motoric efficiency- form the underlying base and basis of perception and cognitive upstanding of SYMBOLS AND

SPACE, PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION-MAKING".

Developmental disabilities, discrepancies and impairments

are the results of genetic inheritance or heredity- the child

does not develop properly in the womb. Other causes of

these learning disabilities are congenital, showing up at

birth while others appear perfectly normal at birth.

Other disabilities are acquired accidents, developmental

delays, lack of neuro-physiological-motoric integration,

cerebral allergies, malnutrition, sublimated vertebrae, psychosomatic defects and illness, and other causes,

such as birth injuries, toxemia, heavy toxic metals as

lead poisoning and mercury poisoning from silver fillings-

'Talking it out' - it is the belief of the modern educational

system - that these learning disabilities- can just be -

'talked out.' The administrator would take the child into

their office - talk to the child - call the parent- the child

'study team' will interview the child- they will write up

some papers - and 'blow some 'smoke into the child's face

as- in the case of 'bullying'- but does it solve

the underline problem?

Teachers must submit lesson plans, attend teacher conferences, be tested, analyzed, label each child, proper evaluation, and the child 'placed' in the 'appropriate class'.

The school nurse will check the child's vision -

using a poster placed TEN FEET AWAY.  We read a elbow's length-

WHAT CAN BE DONE TO AMELIORATE THE CONDITION?-

Dr Hodes went on to conclude...."hasn't it become clear that unless and until the underlining, BASIC core processes

have been put into proper working order, integration,

synchrony and balance, the child will still be

underachieving and suboptimal functioning?"

IN CONCLUSION

Many children & adults have learning disabilities. Their intelligence is normal and they

have no physical disabilities like blindness or deafness. Learning disabilities are the

result of their brains do not process information in the most effective manner-

remembering, thinking, seeing & hearing.

LEARNING DISABILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING-

DYSLEXIA - reading diffficulties

DYSGRAPHIA - writing difficulties

DYSCALCULIA - problems in math- mathmatical operations

ADD/ADHD - problems paying attentionor concentrating

MOTOR CONTROL PROBLEMS - are difficulties in using their bodies-properly-

THE KEY IS THE BRAIN-

THE KEY TO LEARNING IS THE BRAIN-

Information comes to the brain - through the five senses-

VISION, HEARING, SMELL, TASTE, & TOUCH-

NEURONS - (nerve cells)

The Human Body is Electrical

Messages- from the senses - are in the form of electrical impulses- travel the

neuron to neuron system by CHEMICALS - called NEUROTRANSMITTERS-

HOW DO WE THINK?

The gift of 'thinking' comes from GOD!

True thinking is PRAYER!

If we eat other foods, drinks, chemicals, man made 'foods' GMO- (genetic

modified foods)- as in today's - dairy products- This effects the neurological

chemical system... thus preventing clear- 'thinking.'

TO UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF NEUROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION -

THINK ABOUT THIS ANALOGY OF PLATO-

PLATO'S - THE PARABLE OF THE CAVE -'

IN THE 7TH BOOK OF PLATO'S REPUBLIC-

the story begins with the ' Parable of the Cave'

in this story, plato wanted to show 'how far our nature is enlightened or unenlightened-

"The philosopher draws a picture of human beings living in an underground den, all

of them from childhood chained with their backs to the light so that 'all' -

they see is moving shadowscast upon the opposite wall.

The world of shadows is the world of popular beliefs. To these people "truth would

be literaly nothing but the shadow of images". (1)

Plato tells us "to imagine what would happen if the "prisoners (prisoners of the

MIND) were released and disabused of their erro...if any of them is suddenly compelled to

turn and face the light...the glare blinds him and he suffers a sharp pain..if he reluctantly

dragged up into the world outside world of sunlight - he is at first dazed....after they

are accustomed to the new vision, all reality wll appear different...He will see the

difference between shadow and substance...he will know that -POPULAR BELIEF IS

ERROR... Ifno- he should return - WHAT A DIFFERENCE THERE WOULD BE BETWEEN

HIS NEW WISDOM AND THAT WHICH IS THE DEN PASSED FOR WISDOM" (2)

THE EDUCATED MAN -  THINKS DIFFERENTLY

His beliefs are different from whose of the herd..he is gaining a different conception

of what believing - itself is" (3)

Everett Dean Martin " The meaning of a Liberal Education"

published in 1929 New York City

Fom Reading this book, I can see how knowledable the educational level was years ago

compared to today's times. Isn't the media, TV. Internet, Facebook, Twiter

Hollywood movies', school systems, churches, theater, college,  etc. -

                                            'A WORLD OF SHADOWS'......

  Do you know- ?

this eye exam does not work well for many students

because we read at elbows length NOT 10/FT AWAY

Most ICE CREAM is loaded with toxic chemicals
